Jonathan Bryan papers, 1775-1794.

This collection consists of an indenture between the Head Men and warriors of the Creek Nation and Jonathan Bryan, leasing to Lockeway and Appalachee Old Fields for four score and nineteen years for 100 English pounds and a yearly rent of 100 bushels of corn, witnessed by James Adair and Seaborn Jones, October 27, 1774; a photocopy of a letter from Jonathan Bryan to General Nathanael Greene regarding the accompaniment of Colonel Lachlan McIntosh to Georgia; a bill of exchange for 828 pounds, Carolina currency, from Jonathan Bryan to William Williamson and endorsed to John Wood by Joseph Farley and to Nathaniel Hall to Messrs. Powell, Hopton and Company, January 1, 1775; a writ of levy by executors of William Young vs. executors of Jonathan Bryan, October 15, 1791; a copy of the Creek names listed in each section of the indenture; and a photocopy of a letter dated June 3, 1780 from Jonathan Bryan in Long Island, New York, to his wife, Mary, and Brampton Plantation, Georgia.
